The Icon Functions in a Linked Album

A Look at the "Linked Album" Icons & Features
Quick Review
Each person and each family in your Collection has a Collection Page, comprised of a series of Linked Albums containing their best keepsake memories. A Linked Album is essentially a Title, Description, Preview Image, and Share Link to a photo, photo album, home movie, audio file, journal, etc. located in another cloud site.  Clicking the Preview Image triggers the link and opens that memory in a new tab in your browser.

The Icons
Each Linked Album also comes with several convenient icon-commanded features for tasks like moving, copying, rating and sharing that item. Here's a quick overview of these icons, including two great new features:
1. Comment - You and your guest viewers can comment on a given Entry, and comments remain with the item unless you remove them. As the administrator, you decide whether to enable this feature.  (Remember... your collection is private and viewed only by those with whom you share it.)

2. Share - This new feature allows you (and at your option, guest viewers) to share this individual Linked Album with others. Recipients receive an email that contains the Preview Image, Title, and Description; and an optional message from you. They then simply click on the Preview Image to view your shared memory. (We'll be following this email soon with a detailed explanation of this great new feature.)

3. Note Importance - You can assign a rating of zero to three stars to a given item to designate its importance to your guest viewers.

4. Edit - The account owner (and others who have full edit privileges) can click here to edit this item.

5. Re-Sequence - Click this icon to drag and drop this Entry or Linked Album to re-sequence it within the immediate chapter or even a different chapter in this Collection Page.

6. Hosting Cloud Site - This is the brand icon or name of the cloud site where this media is stored and this item linked to. As Administrator, you can select in your Admin settings whether to display these icons.

7. Delete - Removes this item from this Collection Page. It deletes only the Title, Description and link.  It does not delete any photos, videos or media in the site where stored.

8.  Copy/Clone - Here you can copy with one click the Title, Description, Share Link, and Preview Image for this Linked Album, allowing you to easily paste it to another Collection Page in your Collection. The Copy/Clone feature existed before but was more difficult to find as it was only in the Edit Entry screen.

Why are Some Icons Not Always Displayed?
There are numerous reasons one would not see a certain icon in a given Linked Album. These include:
  • If more than one Linked Album has been entered in the same line item "Entry", then only limited icons are viewed at the Entry level and additional icons are viewed when the Preview Image is clicked and all the Entry's Linked Albums are viewed (note the Entries above and below our example above where each has multiple Linked Albums as denoted by the small numbers "3" and "5" in their titles),
  •
  • The Administrator of the account can choose to enable or disable the Comment, Share and Cloud Site icons. These features are toggled on/off in your Admin settings, found by clicking on your name in the top right corner of any page banner.
  •
  • If a guest viewer does not have edit privileges, they will not see the Edit, Copy, Re-sequence or Delete icons.
  •
  • It is not required to turn on any "Stars" to note an item.
