There may be times when you want to create a copy of a Linked Album and add it to another Entry in the same or another Collection Page.
For example, you may have a video or photo album of a newborn coming home from the hospital and want to add it to both the family collection page and that child's collection page.
Or you may want to copy a Linked Album found in another family's or friend's collection and add it to yours, such as photos from a vacation two families took together.
This is easy to do with the COPY and PASTE functions for Linked Albums. Before you start:
If you have just one or two items that you are copying and pasting back into the same Collection, you can do it most easily by just copying and then navigating to the paste location.
If you are pasting many Linked Albums into back into the same Collection, then it is sometimes easiest (though not required) to open the collection twice, in two separate tabs in the same browser.
If you are pasting into a different collection, you will first need to allow “full edit viewing privileges“ (see Granting Guest Access / Viewing Permissions) from the second collection to the first collection. Then log into the User Account for the first collection twice in two separate tabs in the same browser. In the first tab, go to View Collections and open the Collection from which you will be copying. In the second tab, go to View Collections and open the shared Collection you will be pasting to.
Now open one of the collections to the page/Linked Album you want to copy. If using a second tab, open that tab to the page/location where you want to paste the copy.
To COPY the Linked Album:
- Navigate to the ENTRY that holds the Linked Album you wish to copy. If that Entry has more than one Linked Album, you must go to the specific Linked Album you want to copy.
- Click on the COPY ICON in the bottom left of the LInked Album icon grouping. This copies the Title, Description, Share Link and Preview Image of that Linked Album
- When clicking the COPY icon, you will see a confirmation pop-up in the top corner of the screen
To PASTE the Linked Album:
- Next, navigate to the Collection Page and Chapter where you wish to Paste the copied Linked Album. CLICK the link "+ ADD LINKED ALBUM". This could be the first Linked Album in that Entry or only the latest of one or more already present in that Entry.
- On the Add LInked Album screen, simply click on "Paste Copied Linked Album"
- Paste function will add Title, Description, Share Link and Preview Image to the new Linked Album. Click SAVE.
- If this is a new Entry, it will then backfill the TItle and Description of the Entry, which can be edited if you wish.
